Chimney Noise

 What do you think of when you read the words “Chimney Noise”?

Maybe it’s Santa climbing down the chimney on Christmas. Or maybe it’s someone scraping the soot off the fireplace wall.

Whatever you think, it’s probably not a bird pecking at our chimney to build a nest.

This the sound that we have been hearing for a while.

Mom and Dad usually ignore it.

I might say, “Ugh!” or, rarely, shout up the chimney, saying something like, “Hey, birdie, this is not a tree! Go find one!”

We hear silence. Sometimes, I pump my fist in celebration.

But it never lasts. Eventually, we hear the annoying Drrrrr-dr-dr-drr!
